One of the biggest misconceptions in dentistry is that if you don’t have any pain, that means you don’t have a cavity. That simply isn’t true. Most of the time, cavities don’t hurt, and even the most diligent flosser and brusher, it still get cavities. A cavity is simply just tooth decay, which we typically just fix with a filling. Your care and comfort are my top priority when you come see me for that filling.

With our beautiful fillings, you won’t have to worry about others seeing your new restoration. We’ll use composite resin material, which is made up of tiny white particles of glass and plastic. There’s no metal to show or worries about having mercury in your mouth! Dr. Kaady will:
- Carefully remove the decay
- Place the composite where the cavity was
- Sculpt it into the proper shape
- Cure the filling using an ultraviolet light
- Make any final adjustments so it looks and feels perfect
When your procedure is done, you’ll have a new filling. No one will be the wiser that you’ve had any work done. It will last for several years before needing replacement.
If your dental damage is more substantial, we can also use an inlay or onlay for the repair. These partial crowns are used when the damage is too extensive for a filling, but doesn’t need an entire crown. If you do need a complete crown, we’ll take impressions and have our lab partner make one for you. No matter which treatment you need, you can receive sedation if you’re nervous.

Yeah, so I was shocked when I came in and found out that I needed to get fillings. I had waited a little longer than I should have between cleanings, just in my move back here and finding a new dentist. But Dr. Kaady was so amazing and, like, making me feel calm and reassuring me that, like, we were going to get them taken care of quick and that it was going to be painless and that I could go back to doing my normal activities right after my appointment, which was great.
And it had been a long time since I’d had any fillings. So I was a little nervous about what that process was going to be like. You know, when I was a kid, you couldn’t eat things for a while and I feel like there was some pain associated with it, but it was super easy. I came in and I left and it was like nothing had happened. Working with Dr. Kaady is amazing.
He’s got such a funny, like, sense of humor, which for me makes me feel at ease when I’m in the chair. He can kind of crack jokes, make me feel comfortable while also asking, like, helpful questions to make sure that I’m well taken care of. Anytime that I get any information from Dr. Kaady or his staff, I know without a doubt that he is speaking on experience and education.
I know that he is continually always trying to learn more and stay up to date in all of the, like, technologies and things that are going on. And so I know that he is giving his best opinion and advice. And so I trust all of the information that he gives, and that he’s going to keep my mouth healthy, and that I can trust whatever he says. So, yeah.
The location and size of a cavity will affect the amount of time needed for your dentist to place a filling. But in most cases, it’s possible to receive your filling in an hour or less. During that time we will apply composite resin to your tooth, shape it, and cure it with a special light.
While many dentists still rely on dark metal fillings, we use a blend of tooth-colored glass and plastic that doesn’t require as much preparation of the tooth before it’s placed. Our tooth fillings are durable and match the natural color of your teeth so you won’t be able to see evidence of your dental work.
