At Bridgetown Dental, we recommend everyone receives dental fluoride treatment as part of their biannual cleaning to make up for this absence.
Why are dental fluoride treatments important?
Plaque and oral bacteria are unstoppable forces that will always develop no matter how diligent you are about maintaining your teeth.
While your tooth’s enamel is there to protect them from plaque and bacteria fueled decay, as times goes on plaque and bacteria eat away at your enamel and eventually cause decay. Fluoride rebuilds your teeth’s enamel, strengthening your teeth’s defense against decay and cavities.
How does dental fluoride treatment work?
Fluoride treatment at Bridgetown Dental is simple and completely painless. At the end of your biannual cleanings, fluoride gel is applied to your teeth. This gel is absorbed through your teeth. You can go about the rest of your day — the gel does not even need to be washed away. We just recommend no eating or drinking for 30 minutes. That’s it!
